Paved (nice road) over pass at 3900 meters. Gradual climb. Then dirt once we got to the junction at Izcuchaca (where the paved road goes on over the pass to Huancavelica). We stayed in the river valley of the Rio Mantaro. 13 km or so to Mariscal Cáceres. Hospedajes were poor and full, so we camped at one of them.
